Drone Telemetry

The HERCULES X4 Drone is equipped with one of two telemetry systems for communication between the drone and the ground control station: Doodle Labs Smart Radio or RFD Telemetry Kit. Depending on the drone's configuration, it will support either Doodle Labs or RFD telemetry, but not both simultaneously. These systems provide reliable, long-range communication, ensuring seamless data transmission for various operational needs.

Doodle Labs Telemetry.

Designed for high-performance, long-range communication, the Doodle Labs system operates on 2.4 GHz (EU) or 5.8 GHz (FCC) frequencies. It includes an Air Modem installed on the drone and a Ground Modem at the ground station, along with supporting components like the Battery Pack and Cable Sets.

RFD Telemetry.

The RFD system operates on 868 MHz (EU) or 915 MHz (FCC) frequencies. It consists of an Air Unit installed on the drone and a Ground Unit connected to the ground control station via USB. The RFD system is known for its simplicity and robust performance.

Both telemetry systems are designed to meet regulatory requirements and provide flexibility for different operational scenarios. Below, we detail the components, configurations, and setup procedures for each system.
